Mohammad Ali Taheri has been in solitary confinement since May 2011 for establishing a spiritual group called Erfan-e-Halgeh & promoting beliefs & practices that the authorities deem un-Islamic. Mr.Taheri is planning a hunger strike in protest on refusal of releasing him. UN chief criticizing the deteriorating conditions in Iranian prisons especially the condition of political prisoners or those who kept because of their beliefs
